Hey sis,
Today, we're diving into the wonderful world of journaling – if you’ve been plugged in on social media you’ll know we’ve spent the last month journaling with daily prompts. ICYMI, I got you, girl! Grab your favorite pen and a comfy spot, as we get ready to dig deep. If you’re still not convinced let me tell you why journaling is a game-changer on your glow up journey.
Getting Real with Yourself:
Picture this: It’s you, a blank page, and your thoughts. No judgments, no filters – just pure, unadulterated you. Journaling gives you the space to be unapologetically honest with yourself. Whether you're gushing about a fantastic day or venting about a not-so-great one, it's like having a heart-to-heart with your best friend (yes, that's you!).
I’ve always found that when I write things down, in a sense, they then become real. In writing them down, I also feel a sense of unfiltered and raw honesty that may never come out of my mouth. Once it’s written down, I’m able to release it, pray over it, and let it go.
Kicking Stress to the Curb:
Life can get crazy hectic… believe me, I know. Between work, trying to be consistent in going to the gym, making time for passion projects, and creating room to be available for friends and family… stress sometimes creeps up on you and likes to set up camp in your mind. Rent free. One thing I’ve discovered is that journaling is your secret weapon against stress. Pouring your thoughts onto paper is like a mental detox. You unload your worries, your fears, and your to-do lists – leaving space for a peace that surpasses all understanding.
Diving into a Pool of Creativity:
Do you have a dream you're chasing or a passion you're exploring? Journaling is like a canvas for your creativity. As you doodle, scribble, or write your heart out, you're tapping into the imaginative corners of your mind. Who knows, you might just stumble upon the next big idea while you're at it, sis.
Winning at Personal Growth:
Can we keep it a buck? This is a safe space after all… we all have those days where we're not exactly our best selves. But journaling is not about perfection, it’s about progress. By jotting down your experiences and reflecting on them, you're taking steps towards personal growth. It's like having a virtual high-five with yourself for learning and evolving.
A Date with Your Goals:
You know those goals you keep talking about? Well, journaling is your accountability partner. By writing down your dreams and breaking them into bite-sized steps, you're giving them structure and purpose. And when you look back and see how far you've come, you'll be doing a happy dance for sure.
I recently took some time to look back at some of my older journal entries and lowkey grew emotional as I realized that I currently live in some of the things I used to pray for. I’m becoming the woman I’ve always said I would be; and sometimes, taking a quick look in the rearview mirror will really help you see just how much you’ve grown.
The Ultimate Self-Care Ritual:
Let's be real – self-care isn't all about bubble baths and spa days (although those are amazing and needed!). Journaling is a form of self-care that nourishes your mind and soul. It's a few minutes each day to be present with yourself, to listen to your thoughts, and to nurture your well-being.
I hope you’re ready to enter into 31 days of journaling-- and do as best as you can to hold yourself accountable. I’m keen to know which of the prompts stood out to you most and what the journey is like… keep me posted. Happy journaling, sis! 📓🖋️
